Disaster

The explosion at the Chernobyl Atomic Energy Station on April 26, 1986 has been called the worst technological disaster in history. The chemical spill in Bhopal, India caused more immediate deaths. Global warming may have more far reaching environmental effects. But Chernobyl was unique in rendering the largest amount of land unfit for human habitation.
